The Whorouly Primary School buildings consist of a semi-open plan learning space with three teaching areas, a multi-purpose classroom, large covered deck, kitchen/staffroom and office. The spacious grounds re well maintained and established trees provide shaded playing areas. We have structured spaces including playground equpiment, a fully covered basketball court, down ball, wall and bat-tennis courts as well as a space for football, soccer and cricket.
The school location enables easy use of the Whorouly Memorial Hall and Whorouly Recreation Reserve facilities.
Whorouly Primary School has a close relationship with the Whorouly Pre-School, which is adjacent to the school. Most of our Foundation enrollments have attended this Pre-School. Joint programs with the Pre-School make the transition into Foundation very smooth.
Our curriculum is based around strong delivery of Literacy and Numeracy. We also create units of curiosity that are explored each term through a whole school STEM Program. We support a varied specialist program that includes LOTE (Italian), Art, Science and Library. Our school is also a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden School and we participate in the Bluearth Program.
We have exceptional ICT and computer provisions. We have a PC for every student in the Junior class and a laptops for every Senior student. We also have a bank of iPads and Interactive Whiteboards in each classroom.
